Look at these examples of the impact they have made just in the last 5 years.

Tarana Burke who created the MeToo Movement back in 2006, became a worldwide movement in 2017 and gave a voice to the voiceless.

The Black Lives Matter Movement, founded by Patrice Cullers, Opal Tometi, and Alicia Garza back in 2013 has become one of the most important movements since the civil rights movement.

Tamika Mallory, a leading organizer of the Woman’s March, captured the feelings of black people all over the country during the BLM Resurgence.

Stacey Abrams, who not only registered over half a million Georgians to vote but more importantly showed Democrats how to win in red states.

Finally, Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris, who is the first woman ever to hold such a powerful position in government.

91% of black women voted for the Biden Harris Ticket

Even though America has ignored the needs of black women for too long, black women continue to fight for what America could be and they should be honored for that.
